Although some can view the creation without seeing the Creator, I’m thankful not to be among them. To those whom He grants a measure of faith and eyes to see, nature reads as a living, breathing love letter from a wildly creative God.
I enjoy the beach, but prefer the mountains: wooded paths; vibrant flowers; mossy shaded clearings. Most of my kids, however, choose water. Callaway Gardens hits a unique sweet spot: mountains and beach all rolled into one. These images are from this week, the first session of Callaway’s 2012 Summer Family Adventure (click the link and save 10% on your own Summer Family Adventure!).
If I’d waited long enough, I’m convinced a tiny hobbit would have emerged from this mushroom.
{Disclosure: My family and I are guests of Callaway Gardens for the kickoff week of their Summer Family Adventure program. Opinions expressed are my own.}
It certainly looks like a fantastic place! I would love to take my family there. Beach and mountain rolled into one. Perfection.
Perfection indeed. 🙂
I’ve been meaning & meaning & meaning to go there but haven’t since I was a kid. We should remedy that situation soon. 😉
(Beautiful photos, of course!)
Jamie, it was only a little over 2 hour drive for us. The bike trails are really fun, so I’d load them up (or rent them) if you go!
It looks glorious. I know we’d all enjoy this! I’m prob more a mountain mama as well, but do enjoy the serenity of beach time.
We’re definitely getting the best of both worlds this week!
time spent discovering the Creator’s gifts is never time wasted. The Photos are all exquisite!
There are many gifts to discover, aren’t there? Thanks for visiting!
What a beautiful week you were able to experience…and did you find the hobbit?
Rebecca, I went back to look for my mushroom today and my boys said they’d seen someone mow that area! I’m glad I found it when I did, but I wish I’d waited for that little man to emerge (know he was hiding inside). 🙂
Gorgeous, Dawn. It’s been so fun to follow along and see the adventure you are having. What an amazing place for a family.
