This morning I took my three youngest girls to visit Warbington Farms to pick fresh strawberries. It’s been years since we’ve gone strawberry picking: it was during a break between games at an out-of-town baseball tournament; our youngest wasn’t even born.

The weather was breezy and the berries were ripe. Extras like a petting zoo, 58¢ cups of vanilla Mayfield ice cream, and a good climbing tree combined to create a perfect morning.

Berries should be available for picking until mid-June. We’ve almost finished off this morning’s gallon already. Next time we’ll get some fresh tomatoes, too.
