Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another,
if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
~Colossians 3:13
Do you carry grudges? This verse tells us that we should forgive each other even as Christ forgave (and forgives) us. When we look at the enormity of the ways we sin against Him, and yet He forgives, it seems petty not to forgive those who offend us.
It’s amazing what this perspective does for my outlook. Does it affect yours?

I found myself going to bed last night and starting to take inventory with someone. It’s someone I am trying to SHOW grace to and yet, I found myself tallying their violations 🙁 When the spirit whispered to me, I listened and prayed for forgiveness. It’s sad how quickly we can start to take another’s inventory to store up against them, even when what we truly want in our hearts, is to show them God’s love. If we hold grudges, others will have a hard time seeing his light shine through us!
Melinda, you are so right. When we put it in perspective—how much God has forgiven of us—it does wonders for our point of view.
