Imagine my surprise when I was summoned outside this afternoon to see my youngest, who just turned four this summer, riding her big sister’s bike without training wheels! Apparently she just asked for help climbing on, and then took off down the road.
It was scary watching her since the bike was too big. At first she fell off every time she stopped; next she learned to brake and then jump off the side. My 18-year-old son quickly took the training wheels off of a smaller bike. Whew!
It was a truly joyous occasion: my sweet baby was so pleased with her accomplishment, and the rest of us were equal parts giddy and dumbfounded. Wasn’t one of us supposed to have to teach her how to do this?
That is awesome! What a great moment and you captured it perfectly!! 😀
What a cutie — and good for her!!
