We had a great time last Saturday morning in downtown Atlanta for Doughnuts & Dinosaurs, sponsored by Georgia Public Broadcasting. Anything that combines Krispy Kreme and dinosaurs is sure to be a big hit with the whole family. This event promoted two things: the premier of the new show Dinosaur Train, and Dinosaur Week—an entire week of dinosaur-themed programming for all ages—September 13-18 on GPB.
Here are some highlights of Dinosaur Week:
- “Dinosaur Train” launches Dino week on September 13 with two special episodes at 9 AM and 10:30 AM (regular time slot weekdays at 8:30 AM)
- PBS Kids favorites Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Barney and Friends and Sid The Science Kid will run special dinosaur-themed episodes throughout the week
- Primetime shows begin September 13 with David Attenborough’s “Living with Dinosaurs” at 8 PM
- The popular IMAX attraction, “Dinosaurs Alive!” will air on Wednesday, September 16 at 8 PM
GPB did a fabulous job of reaching out to Atlanta-area bloggers; the place was packed. Activities included viewing an episode of Dinosaur Train; face painting; making fossils; meeting Buddy, one of Dinosaur Train’s stars; painting; balloon shapes; and a train ride. I loved the chance to hang out with some local bloggers.
Thanks GPB for a great morning!

I would have LOVED to go, but boys can’t have doughnuts & it’d be too much of a temptation right now. 🙂
