Since the name Homeschool Blog Awards doesn’t reflect the fact that we post all year long, not just during the awards’ period, we decided to change our name. Go here to read all about it!
[Speaking of the awards, nominations will begin in October this year, with voting in November. Get ready!]
I took a typography class from Scott Kelby at Photoshop World, and was itching to try the techniques I learned. This was the perfect opportunity. The site actually has four headers, interchangeable using the theme switcher in the header (see the tabs that say satin, aqua, autumn, and prairie?).
Please go check it out and let me know what you think. I would love it if you’d let me know which header was your favorite. Thanks!
I don’t homeschool because my son gets the speech and OT services he needs to thrive at his school(I’ve tried doing them myself, but my knowledge and equipment are limited) but I really admire homeschoolers. I had always planned to teach my child at home until my son was diagnosed with Autism and I realized that I didn’t have the resources I need to do it by myself. I still get a real kick out of making learning aids though even if we don’t use them everyday.

I like the reflected apple. Nice touch. The type turned out nice. Big and bold with a little drop shadow for emphasis but no overdone at all. And the handwriting style for the subtitle contrasts nicely to give the image a bit of casualness to it too.
I don’t homeschool, but often wished I could.

I so do NOT like the autumn season, but that is my favorite header. 🙂
love the satin and prairie – but they are all very cool!! I so need to learn more about html and stuff. I know just enough to get by – and be dangerous enough to my own blog.
Glad to see you on the Crew! 🙂 It’ll be fun!!
