You love A&E’s 5-hour miniseries of Pride and Prejudice, right? In my humble opinion, it is the premier film adaptation of Jane Austen’s work. When I discovered the 10th anniversary collector’s set, I wanted one for my own and ordered it at an amazing price from the nice folks at Library and Educational Services, the sponsor of this giveaway.

I love the scene where Darcy gives Lizzie what is probably the most original marriage proposal in literature, by insulting her family.
My daughter and I love to watch these “dress” movies together, but while we have watched the shorter movie version, we have never seen this one, even though I have been dying to. I would really like to be entered to win it for her and surprise her.
Ooo, ooo!!!! Well, I could probably quote the entire thing, does that win me any extra points? 🙂 Favorite scene though? Hmm…probably when Darcy and Elizabeth dance and she’s trying to get him to talk. And the whole rest of the movie’s pretty good too… 😉
I have never seen this mini series but have always wanted to!!! This would be a WONDERFUL thing to win!!! 🙂 I would really enjoy it! This is right up my alley!! Thank you so much for the chance! 🙂

I’ve seen it, but only once, so I don’t have any good quotes. Although Mrs. Bennet squawking about all the time makes me laugh. Lizzie’s banter with just about everyone is always enjoyable. If I had my own DVD set, I’d be able to have some favorite quotes.

Oh, wow! I hope I win, because I love this mini-series. Even my husband likes it! My favorite scene… I love when Darcy tells Caroline Bingly that Elizabeth is one of the fairest women he has ever seen (or something close to that). I love the look on her face, so funny.

I love the scene when they meet at Pemberley, and she is trying to leave as fast as she can and he is trying to be as kind as he can and they are both horribly embarressed and horribly happy to see each other at the same time.
When Darcy confesses his love for her: “In vain have I tried; it will not do. Allow me to confess that I ardently love and admire you.”
Or something like that. 😉

I think I’ve seen every version of P&P there is, and have blogged about it excessively. Perhaps too excessively, LOL. My favorite scene from this one is when Colin, I mean Darcy, is arriving at a ball and looks up and sees Elizabeth in the window. *sigh* I have borrowed this from the library so many times. I’d love to own my own copy.

Whoa! You got a lot of entries on this! Yahoo… now if I could get that random.org to like me. 😛
My favourite part in the whole movie is when Mr. Darcy gets out of the lake and walks up to Pemberely and meet Elizabeth. Haha man, I love that shocked look on his face and then him trying to be all form, dripping with water, just makes me and mom laugh!!!!
Elizabeth Bennet: I am no longer astonished at you knowing only *six* accomplished women, Mr Darcy, I rather wonder at your knowing *any*.
This was fun…thanks so very much.
Thanks for having another giveaway – I love this movie. One of my favorite parts is when Mrs. Bennet complains about her nerves, and Mr. Bennet tells her “You mistake me, my dear. I have the utmost respect for your nerves. They’ve been my constant companion these twenty years.”

This is my FAVORITE movie version of my FAVORITE of Jane Austen’s novels. I would love to see the special features in this anniversary edition.
There are so many great scenes and lines in the movie it is very difficult to choose one. One of my favorites is near the end when Darcy proposes again to Lizzy and tells her he might still be living in pride and conceit were it not for her, “Dearest, loveliest, Elizabeth.” [sigh]
Thanks so much for including me in your drawing.

Beth/Mom2TwoVikingss last blog post..Thursday Thanks Tank
I SO love this verson! In my opinion, there just isn’t any other that does it justice. The casting, sets, costumes, and of course the brilliant acting by Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, as well as the rest…oh my goodness, they’re all so perfectly good! Sorry for blathering like Mrs. Bennett, but I can’t help it, this is my all-time favorite!
I suppose if I’m forced to pick just one scene, out of so many superb ones, it really is a tie between Mr. Darcy’s proposal (and Elizabeth’s sound rejection), Darcy and Elizabeth meeting at Pemberly (and he asks after her family twice, being so flustered to see her), and “The Look” (Darcy’s smile at Elizabeth from across the room while Georgiana plays). Sighhhhhhhhhh…….. 🙂
Wendys last blog post..What’s Up?
OH, MY, GOSH! I love, love, love the A&E version, and only had it on video. Haven’t seen it since giving up my VHS TV. Favorite scenes… #1- when lizzy runs into darcy at his mansion while touring the lakes with her aunt/uncle, #2- when he meets her to tell her he loves her against his better judgement, and #3- when he finds her to see if she’s changed her mind after the aunt visits in the middle of the night.
Oh, how I adore P&P! The best scene? Probably the first proposal from Mr. Darcy. No woman in her right mind would accept him! But she does eventually. *sigh*
I’d love to see this. My sil highly recommends it! Thanks for the giveaway!

This might be incredibly selfish of me to enter, considering I already own this movie on VHS and DVD… but I have never seen the making-of book or the other bonus material included. Plus I do have 2 teenage sisters who will eventually want to own it themselves… so I would share the joy. That makes me feel better. 🙂
My favorite scene is pretty much all of “Episode 4” – from Mr. Darcy writing the letter, Lizzy reading the letter, Lizzy going to Pemberley and being struck with how different Darcy is than she believed, Darcy going swimming, and their unexpected meeting. That whole hour is so well-done!
Thank you!

i’ve heard so many good things about the mini-series, but have yet to see it.
Oh yes, I was wondering if this was the post to put my favorite scene on.
I see many others love my favorite scene: The pond scene. I was devastated when the girls read the books and told me it was not actually in them. Wow. I love it when he rides up to the pond and gets off to dive in, because I just know what is coming! LOL
Anyway, there you go. It would still be as awesome a movie without the scene. I also like the scene where Darcy asks her to dance and she agrees and is mad at herself… or when Elizabeth tromps through the mud intentionally to go to Bingley’s to see her sister. Oh, it is so good. The whole movie is my favorite, perhaps with the exception of Mr. Collins. HA!
In the new one, Jocelyn and I always CRACK UP when “Darcy” repeats “I love, love, love you.” It sounds like he just forgot what he was supposed to say, so he repeats himself. Anyway, Amanda does not care so much for Colin Firth, so she likes the newer version better, and Jocelyn and I like to laugh about the “I love, love, love you” part! 🙂
