I’m trying to be a sport and participate in Pensieve’s Poetic License, but this is really just awful.
Just who are these Five Guys,
Who lure me with their Famous Burgers and Fries
National Hamburger Month gives me a good excuse,
Although my husband will realize it’s just a ruse.
It’s not awful at all! I am actually quite excited to see that you did not name a person specifically! I thought that was a must and was not sure if I could come up with anything! And you did rhyme, as for your Burgers and Fries, Yuck! You really do not want any of those!

Hey, I liked it. And if I was anywhere near the Five Guys restaurant, I’d be there for lunch today!

Daaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnnnnn! Do you not realize that this is GOOD????! It’s a perfect clerihew and pretty doggone funny!
I think you underestimate your poetic side :).
Thanks for being a sport, though…I hope you had a teensy bit of fun (more than this being like “medicine” you had to take!).

I love it – I’ve never heard of The Five Guys – but if their place was near me, I’d be there RIGHT NOW!!!

(found your blog through Antique Mommy…)
I think your poem is cute and I totally agree with your thoughts about Five Guys. I live near Macon, and hubby and I find excuses to drive to Macon just so we can be “in the area” and eat there!
