I was thrilled today to buy my first bag of Vidalia onions this season. I wanted to share a recipe that our family loves. It’s my dad’s recipe, so I hope he doesn’t mind that I just submitted it in the “Very Vidalia” recipe contest!
Great-on-the-Grill Vidalias
Vidalia onions
Ranch dressing
bacon bits
butter or margarine
seasoning salt and/or garlic saltQuarter a Vidalia onion and place it on a square of tin foil large enough to completely surround the onion and seal on top. Pour remaining ingredients, in generous quantities, on top of the Vidalia. Seal the tin foil. Put your onions on the grill right away because they may take longer to cook than burgers and hot dogs; they are ready when soft and translucent. Remove from the grill, cool slightly, and enjoy!
