*Not Quite* Thirteen Things to Please Join Me in Prayer for Today

I am shamelessly harnessing the power of the internet for these prayer requests. Not everyone who reads will know everyone involved, but if you feel lead to do so, please pray for:
1. Addison. I had never read this blog until yesterday, however I’ve “chatted” with Addison’s Aunt Barb. This 3-month-old baby having open-heart surgery has weighed on my heart today.

2. Brian and family. This is a 19-year-old boy at our church who has struggled with kidney problems for the past few years. His blood pressure and creatinine levels are getting progressively worse, and he needs to start dialysis soon. Screening started this week to find a kidney donor. Because of his health, Brian has had to move back home and temporarily suspend pursuit of his dream (he had just started flight school).

3. Lily. My sweet baby has been fighting a bladder infection. It is finally under control, but she has a renal-bladder ultrasound in 2 weeks to make sure there are no problems, like kidney reflux.

4. My grandmother. Hospice was called in this week at the nursing home where she’s been the past few years. She is in a partial coma now, and unable to eat. I pray she doesn’t suffer. I know there will be great rejoicing when she sees my granddad again; she has never been the same since he passed 15 years ago.

5. Tommy’s family. These are homeschool friends of ours whose son was killed last month.

6. Joanna and baby. This is a friend with pregnancy complications which endanger both her and her baby. She is currently 26 weeks; the doctors hope to get her to at least 28 weeks. I am awed and amazed by her peace and trust in Him at this time.

7. Jacob. This is my oldest son who moved into a house downtown this week in a fairly dangerous looking neighborhood in downtown Atlanta. I pray for his safety.

8. Our family. We are having some struggles now and strongly desire to see God’s hand in our lives and know His will for our family.

I know this isn’t thirteen, but these are the prayer requests that weigh on me the most now. I don’t want to lessen them by tossing in five more, although I’m certain their are things I’m forgetting. I am comforted by Romans 8:26 – “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Blessings to you and your family!
