I remember being so confused when I discovered essential oils. What exactly was I supposed to do with them? And those brown bottles sure seemed small.
I quickly learned how potent quality essential oils are, although it was still hard to believe one drop of peppermint could flavor a large glass of water. (Believe me, it can.) A little goes a long way, and usually, less is more.
One of the three ways to use essential oils is internally, and one of the easiest ways is in recipes or beverages. Here are two delicious drinks: Cinnamon Lemon Soothing Throat Tea to ease your throat or warm you on a cold day, and Strawberry Lemonade, a refreshing drink for these summer scorchers.
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups strawberries
- Juice of one lemon
- 5 drops lemon essential oil
- Agave or honey to taste
- Puree strawberries in a blender. Combine with other ingredients in a pitcher, mixing well and adding honey or agave to taste.
