Philippians 4:19

I had a moment this weekend when I worried that I’m not worried.

We used to joke that my grandmother and great aunts were professional worriers; it’s part of our human nature. But although these were good and godly women, the Bible contains verse after verse that tell us God doesn’t intend for us to live a life of anxiety and fear.

He asks us to trust Him.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19

My husband and I have been blown away by the support we’ve received in the two weeks he’s been unemployed and the sweet comments on my (in)courage post last week. He’s interviewing and applying for new jobs and we hope to have good news soon.

I have a follow-up visit with a hand doctor this week after a go kart accident that sent me to the ER. I still have pain, swelling, and numbness in my right hand, but it continues to heal.

In spite of the uncertainty of our current situation, I remain optimistic and have enjoyed the extra time with my husband. We spent a lovely Easter with six of our eight children and friends: morning services at church and then hiding Easter eggs in our yard; cooking hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill; making cookies; and drooling over the Great British Baking Show.

We feel the combined prayers of our online community and our face-to-face friends and we’re grateful for you—and to you—all. May the Lord bless you!

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee . . .”
