I occasionally apologize to my kids about the music of their generation, where popularity is garnered by bad behavior instead of talent, by style rather than substance. My parents reminisced about artists who wore suits on stage and whose dress and behavior showed respect for their audience. Even today’s talented artists sometimes fail on the respect issue.
Sunday night my 16-year-old son and I saw Straight No Chaser at the Atlanta Civic Center. It was my 4th SNC concert, so I expected a great show. The guys don’t disappoint: they look good and sound even better.
It’s amazing how unimportant gimmicks are when you actually have talent.
They obviously enjoy what they do, and when they have fun, we have fun. SNC isn’t afraid to be silly or make fun of themselves (and occasionally the audience, when they really ask for it).
My camera hearts Straight No Chaser.
Straight No Chaser understands the power of social media—they were discovered when an old college video of them went viral after being uploaded to YouTube. Photography and video are not only allowed but encouraged at SNC concerts and the guys always sign autographs afterwards.
If you get the chance to catch Straight No Chaser in concert, you won’t be disappointed!
{Disclosure: Tickets provided by Atlantic Records (no review required). Opinions are my own!}
I remember you! We were PEARL members together for a short time before you moved, not long after your eighth was born, if I remember correctly. We now live on an island in the Strait of Georgia (instead of the State of Georgia) which is off western Canada, btwn the mainland and Vancouver Island. Gina V posted a link to your blog, specifically to the SNC concert. Your photography is WONDERFUL and I’m so glad to see you and your family are doing well. My only child, KJ, is 19 now, and will finish his commercial pilot’s license in January. The climate here is mild – same USDA zone as North GA! Just more cold days and less hot ones, but the extremes are the same. Life is good, God is good. Nice to connect w/ you. Kemala
I have a good friend who went to this concert at The Civic Center over the weekend and she LOVED it…. your pictures are great, and I’m going to be adding this music to my Spotify playlist today! Thanks!
loved this! How wonderful that you see this with your son!
I love these pics. I need to take pics like that. Any ideas?
I’ve never heard of this group {I’m slightly ignorant re: musical groups}, but the pictures look amazing… I’ll have to check out the video you shared!!
Stopping by to say Merry Christmas!

To all that you said, Dawn…..yes, yes, yes and Amen!
Keeping Christ in Christmas……
Great photos Dawn, thanks for sharing them. I was also at this concert with my whole family (husband & 4 young adult children)…it was our 3rd time to see them live. My son and I are avid SNC fans, known as Chasers. I’m a musician, so I love to see them use their talents in such a pure form. I also love that they are family friendly & take their appearance so seriously but still have fun. If SNC comes to your area – get tickets, it is a great show with talented guys.
What a great review and FABULOUS pictures! You really captured what the guys are all about–entertaining their audience! Thanks for spreading the word about Straight No Chaser via your blog–you are definitely one of ‘us’! Welcome to Chaser Nation!
great review and FABULOUS pictures
WOW! Awesome pics and it looks like such a fun concert. I’d love to see them. Merry Christmas girl!
Ashley, they’re on FB, but check out their official site at sncmusic.com for bios, pics, videos, and lots of fun. Dozens, if not hundreds, of videos up on YouTube. As always, some amateurs are better than others. DaisyKary’s are almost always very good. They have some really amazing stuff out, and I love their Christmas music. Check Amazon, iTunes, or their own site for purchases. No affiliation (much less cut of the take!) — just a big fan, or “Chaser,” as we’re known. And once you love them, there is nothing like a live concert.

And yes, those are GREAT pics!!
I agree wholeheartedly with your review. Every Straight No Chaser concert is the best one I’ve ever seen! And your photos are magnificent!!!!!
I can’t get over how great your pix are! Let me know if they need a Texas review. LOL
Kemala, yep—it’s me! I’m so glad you found me. Your move sounds so interesting!
Thanks, Kay! I love photographing Straight No Chaser concerts.
