But godliness with contentment is great gain.
~1 Timothy 6:6
Sometimes I struggle with contentment. I get frustrated with a boss who could be more generous; vehicles that could be newer; a bank account that could be fuller.
Our blessings come from God. Being dissatisfied with what I have is like saying, “I’m not happy with what you’ve given me.”
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. ~Hebrews 13:5
I pray for God to bless my family, but I also pray to be content with what He gives us.
