31 Days of Encouragement: Day 1

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them
when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way,
and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
~Deuteronomy 6: 6-9

31 Days of EncouragementMy resolutions usually center around Biblical themes: read the Bible more; become a better parent, friend, or wife; teach the children through family devotionals. I’ve already bought a new daily devotional and downloaded a new Bible app with an assortment of read-the-Bible-through schedules.

Unfortunately, sometimes we word our resolutions in a way that sets us up for failure almost as soon as we begin.

Every day that you spend time in God’s word or teach it to your children is beneficial. Don’t waste time counting the days you’ve missed the goal instead of benefiting from the days you fulfill it!
