Joe McNally’s KelbyTraining LIVE Location Lighting Tour

I wanted to share a couple of awesome but totally unrelated happenings here in Atlanta: Joe McNally’s Location Lighting Tour through KelbyTraining LIVE will be at the Cobb Galleria Centre this Monday, November 1. These tours tend to sell out, so I’d nab that ticket ASAP if you’re interested.

Tickets are $99 for a full day of instruction, $79 for NAPP members. If you use my promo code—DAWN—when joining NAPP, you’ll get a $10 discount and Scott Kelby’s Photo Recipes Live DVD/book FREE. If you qualify for an education discount (teacher, student, homeschooler), that’s another $10 off. Join for two years—which is what I did when I joined—and the savings multiply.

Middle School the Musical at the Alliance Theatre

Three of the kids and I were invited to attend opening night of Middle School the Musical Monday at the Alliance Theatre. I admit that I held a couple of pre-conceived notions: (1) that it would be a direct take-off of High School Musical or (2) that it would be full of inappropriate humor, designed to appeal to kids, but not adults.

Thankfully, it was none of the above.

What we saw was a cute and engaging play—written by the actors themselves—with likable characters and good use of crowd participation. This production successfully managed to appeal to adults, teens, and tweens; my 15-year-old son, 13-year-old daughter, 10-year-old daughter and I all enjoyed it.

{Oops! I just realized that this play only had a one week run and the last shows are today! Here is the full 2010-2011 schedule for the Alliance. }
