The Heart of the Matter has a “tell us about yourself” video meme this week. Our camcorder is nine years old and I don’t have the faintest clue how to connect it to a computer, but after hearing the buzz and how much fun everyone has been having, I decided to try to make a video with my computer.
After a ridiculous number of attempts, you still probably won’t be able to understand very much of this due to the number of children climbing on and around me (and it’s only half of them). I guess that’s my reality, so that makes this an accurate slice, right?
My daughter said I should record a separate video by myself with all of the things I left out, like being an author for The Homeschool Post, but I think I’ll just leave it at one video, thankyouverymuch.
[Upon watching the video, I realize that I actually gave us an additional child. We don’t have a 5th grader this year. Once you watch the video, you’ll understand how I could have lost my concentration.]

I am totally cracking up! That is so much like my house it’s not even funny. And people said I was really focused in mine! Nothing compared to you, my friend.
I loved your voice and I really want to be friends with you in real life now! Boo hoo.
I am impressed that you got nearly two minutes of video with all that chaos going on, girl! That was fun! Glad you had some of your clan in there. 😀
AH! How did I miss that you have 8 kids? (I am the oldest of 7)
I love your video!!!!
That’s exactly why I don’t talk on the phone much! I loved seeing your girls though. I think they are natural born stars. 😉
I’m so glad you participated! And I look forward to your new column! Maybe I’ll be able to take better pictures for my blog. 😀
Hey Dawn,
I’m number seven of a family of eight. I am so envious of the big crowd you have going at your house. Looks like a lot of fun and a lot of laughs.
Love the new blog for HOTM and cannot wait to see your new column. I loved your talk on blogging at the conference. Hope to hear you speak again next year!
That was great! It looks just like my house when I try to do something! 🙂
I was not brave enough to participate this week, but I have enjoyed seeing everyone’s videos.
Leah
Your girls are so cute, I loved this video and your blog design looks great btw!
The dancing girls made me laugh. You were brave and I loved seeing you in real life. I am excited about the photo stuff you mentioned.

Oh girl I am cracking up here. Loved your video.
I’m glad you were able to do the meme!
HOTM site looks GREAT btw. Girl, I don’t know how you manage it! Maybe they should give you a column on that!
((hugs))

That was AWESOME! (And exactly why I hid in my closet)
I thought you sounded amazingly coherent for having 4 children crawling around and it was such FUN to hear your voice. You have precious girls. I had to watch again just so I could watch their facial expressions… your daughter on the top right cracks me up – watch her facial expressions during this vid. She was made for TV.
Anyway – i LOVED LOVED LOVED “meeting” you!
Darcy
(who wants your mad skillz when I grow up!)
=D How FUN is that?!!? I loved it!
And, btw, I totally love the fact that you have four girls and four boys. That’s so awesome.
Dawn! Oh my goodness, your girls are precious– and quite the comedians!
I love your smile, I love your blog and I am so glad that I finally got to meet you. 🙂
So cute! Your girls are adorable too 🙂
I enjoyed yours and Heather’s talks at the HOTM conference – it’s nice to meet you “in person”!
Blessings,
Shannon
Your house is so fun. Can I move in? 😉
HAH! Syd and Hunter and I loved it…we felt like we were sitting right next to you at your house!!! Ah man, made me wanna be there! Enjoyed our time yesterday, as usual…u like the picts?
Loved meeting you, Dawn. And I don’t hear an accent either. LOL You did a great job with little ones at bay. Mine were helping me by making some very loud background noises while playing. After the 5th take, I just used what we had. I should’ve hidden in the closet like Darcy. LOL
Ist time visitor to your blog and LOVED your video post. Your children are adorable and squirmy…which makes them even more adorable. I’m a first year homeschooler so I stand in awe!
I have to say that I enjoyed watching your video the first time but the second time with no audio… priceless! 🙂
You have a beautiful family girl!
Oh my goodness you go girl!!! For one thing, the new website looks AWESOME!! I noticed it right away when I went to it. I am not participating in this week’s meme (although I may try to before tomorrow!), but I am browsing other people who did! 😉
Your girls are beautiful and I give you LOTS of kudos for all your kiddos! I hope someday to have a FULLER house, although right now I could use a break in the baby making department! LOL
I don’t know how you do it! I only have 4 and there aren’t enough hours in the day as it is! I need to browse your blog and discover your secrets! 😉
That was fun to watch. Your daughters are quite the hams. Nice to meet you.
