Our homeschool group’s year-end carnival was a fun event, complete with snow cones, funnel cakes, fried curly potatoes, hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy – YUM! Unfortunately, our old-style carnival required a lot of electricity, beyond the capabilities of the pavilion at the brand new county park where it was held. The team in charge did a beautiful job of pulling it off in spite of this obstacle, but I hope the county learns from this.
I love, love, love these pictures of my kids after they had their faces painted. The colors are fabulous, but the contrast (and how the eyes pop!) on the black and whites appeals to me, too.
What do you think?
while i love their eyes in the b&w, color is definitely the way to go in these shots! can you lighten their faces and bump up the black a bit to help the eyes stand out in the color shots?
I vote color. They are good in b&w but the color is so alive.
Marsha, you know, I edited the B&W, but not the color. I guess I didn’t give ’em my best shot, so to speak. 🙂
I might be the odd one out, it won’t be the first time! I LOVE the black & white! To me it actually excentuates (totally spelled wrong & it’s not auto correcting) the drama of the picture. I mean it’s obvious there is color in their face. So to not ‘see’ the actual color makes it’s even more I interesting to me. Looks like a fun day!
that second one in b/w still stops me in my tracks. LOVE it.
Noelle, you aren’t the odd one out: when the link posted to twitter the black and whites were getting the most votes. 🙂
Gitz, any time someone says a photo of mine (or of one of my children) stops them in their tracks, it makes me happy. 🙂
