My family and I were invited by One2One Network and the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) to attend Sunday afternoon’s contest between the Atlanta Dream and the San Antonio Silver Stars at Philips Arena. It was our first WNBA game, and to be perfectly honest, my husband and I really didn’t know what to expect.

We were pleasantly surprised. 🙂

Smart organizers realize that while some of those in the stands are die-hard fans, others are small children, people who don’t care for sports in general, and mothers who are often too distracted by making sure everyone is happy to pay much attention to the game. I spent the first half of the game in mom mode—I couldn’t help it; it’s the way we moms are wired—but really settled in and watched the second half once I realized how much everyone was enjoying both the game and the experience.

I love it when local folks get a chance to perform at home town games, like these Zumba fitness fanatics at halftime.

“Lucky Dogs” parachuting from the ceiling? We caught two!

This guy probably signed autographs after the game. He was the winner of the Coca-Cola “Jam Cam” contest, busting some seriously crazy moves for the camera.

Shooting free throws on the court after the game was a real treat. I made mine!

The game was very exciting and well-played. It was a two-point game—back and forth—for quite a while, before Atlanta took the lead in the third period and held onto it, winning 90-83.

We are proud of our home town team! Thank you One2One Network and the WNBA for such a fun afternoon.
