Here are some goodies that I wanted to share with you.

Heart of the Matter Conference {online}

Heart of the Matter is holding another great online homeschool conference next week, February 22-25. Sprittibee and I (the Bee and Peach duo!) will be speaking together again! This time our topic is “How NOT to Homeschool” and our session will be on Thursday afternoon. Join us, won’t you? 🙂

Connect a Million Minds
Here’s the scoop:

CAMM is Time Warner’s new philanthropic effort aimed at connecting kids with afterschool science, technology, engineering and math programs in their communities. If you visit the website and click on the “Connectory,” you can search for family-friendly resources and activities that that inspire kids and teens to develop the important science, technology, engineering and math skills they need to become the problem solvers of tomorrow. If you’re passionate about science and math education for children, you can also take the Connect a Million Minds Pledge here.

I plugged in our address and found several pages of resources in the Atlanta area. CAMM is also available to homeschoolers.

More Than Play
While you’re finding educational opportunities for your older children, check out those for your youngest at More Than Play. Here are the details:

More Than Play is an educational initiative to share how play lays down important foundational skills needed for advanced learning like reading, writing, mathematics, critical problem solving, and conceptual thinking, to name just a handful. You can learn more by visiting the Playskool More Than Play website and reading the child development facts and benefits surrounding the skills associated with each toy. In support of the campaign, Playskool has developed a series of vignettes designed to illustrate a few of the benefits of play, which you can find on their YouTube channel.

Enjoy!
