The election has left me feeling very unsettled lately. No matter who wins, it’s obvious that our country is divided (and yes, this post was written on Tuesday before the election was final).
I took the following two pictures this week. The first was taken yesterday of our gold-domed Georgia state capitol. The second was taken today from a mountain top. They both give me a comforting sense that God is in control: there is a bigger picture.

These are lovely photos. I lived in Atlanta for about 10 years, and I forgot the beauty of it. Your pictures brought it all rushing back. Thanks for helping me to start my day in such a lovely way.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. What bothers me most is how divided we are, and people aren’t even friendly to other people with differing views. It makes me sad. So many people I read or know have made the nastiest comments about the elections and I smile and nod and wish to talk about the weather.

Your images are magical….and while you note in your post that our country is divided, I see unity in those pictures. God is the focus.
I have been sickened by what we have been reduced to….the bickering, the name calling….and I refuse to participate.
We have a President, and it’s not worth debating whether or not he is the best man for the job. I am a DAR, and my ancestors aided in achieving American independence. God guided them in the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and he will guide the present leaders of our country.
And I will do whatever I can to bring people together, and to teach my children what is *good* about this time in American history. Because there is always something good about being an American.
